MadeFights.com
A Database of Made Fights

A PROMOTER'S LICENSE

I stumbled onto the license model quite accidentally. A promoter from Tennessee called me in Las Vegas one night about 11:00 after he had discovered one of our webpages which described our database of ready made fights resulting from accepted challenges using cell phones and the Internet. He said this database would make putting on a fight card a "piece of cake."

The promoter wanted a franchise for three states. I was shocked and asked how he got into our password protected directory. I told him I'd call him back when our software was complete and our site was functional. He called again in five minutes, asking if he could reserve a franchise for all of Mexico for a wealthy friend of his from Mexico City.

As a result of his excited inquiry, our model became a highly functional matchmaking and marketing license for promoters. Promoters who promote one show a week have come to a point that there is a limit on the number of fights they can do, because it gets to be almost humanly impossible to do more.

FightersOnline will become, in effect, a potential virtual global co-promoter with repional promoter-licensees. We will have the option of partnering with a major U. S. promoter with a strong brand or geographically fractionalizing the world market by country or region and select regional promoters with strong local brands as licensees.

ADVANTAGES TO PROMOTERS

The toughest and most time consuming part of promoting is making the fights. There is enormous telephone time and cost required to locate twenty-two fighters for a 10 fight card and a standby for the main event. Promoters go through the process of having fighters leverage them in getting agreements to fight each other. Promoters and matchmakers expend enormous time and cost in finding good opponents for fighters they have under contract and negotiating the purses. The time element is why promoters are so limited in the number of shows they can put on and why so many strong fight markets go untapped.

Promoters who promote monthly shows under contract with a hotel venue will no longer have to make long-term financial committments to fighters to lock up "fight content." MadeFights.com is a database of ready-made fight content for promoters.

The large promoters currently sign multi-fight contracts with 30 or more fighters to assure themselves of fight content with fighters who have great earning potential. HBO and Showtime do the same in boxing. They and the major promoters like Oscar De La Hoya and Bob Arum often have their fighters under contract fight each other later because it is their best option. The UFC does the same in MMA. MadeFights.com will enable all the minor promoters to minimize their financial committment and still be assured of a plethora of fight content for their shows. They will be able to buy fights from a list of made fights (accepted challenges) or go to the website of each of their fighters under contract and see who has challenged them and the terms they are asking and choose an opponent from the list of challenges.

MORE OPTIONS

Promoters who choose to have fighters under contract will also have more opponent options for the other half of their card. At MadeFights.com, they will see a greater number of options with opponents who have accepted the challenges they made on behalf of their fighters.

Some fighters will still accept the increased guarantees and the security of a promoter's multi-fight contract. The free agency of GetAFight.com will, however, result in shorter-term contracts with good fighters as these contracts expire.

The ease of matchmaking will encourage many good businessmen who love boxing and MMA to become promoters.

The business options which arise at MadeFights.com will turn businessmen into promoters everywhere.

PROMOTER ALERT

A high level of competition exists between promoters for marketable opponents with credible records. Look at the recent fights between Top Rank and Golden Boy Promotions over Shane Mosely. Shane left Golden Boy to become a free agent so he could negotiate with Arum.

PromoterAlert is MadeFights.com's premium customized service where email alerts are immediately sent to promoters when a marketable opponent either challenges or accepts a challenge by one of their fighters. The service lets promoters bid for matches as soon as they are made with fighters they have flagged.

Promoters can also elect to receive email alerts about venues which have bids in for particular dates, fights, or fighters at SiteFeeAuction.com.

The number of fighters, venues, and business topics upon which each promoter can elect to receive immediate alerts will depend on the information submitted with the promoter application. This feature will have great value to most promoters.

LARGE DATABASE OF READY-MADE FIGHTS

MadeFights.com will offer a highly sortable database of possible fights to all promoters, small and large, and media companies. A little math calculating the potential combinations of fighters is astounding.

The quick development of a database of made fights is easy to visualize. If four fighters challenge and accept challenges from each other, there are 12 made fights among them. When a fifth fighter is added to the group, the made fights increase to 20. Six fighters all challenging each other would make 30 made fights. Seven makes 42. As the number of fighters goes beyond ten, the total number of made fights among the fighters escalates rapidly. If only fifty heavyweight fighters all challenge each other, promoters will have approximately 2,500 made fights to choose from for an all heavyweight card. Magic. All promoters will love it.

Promoters will be able to sort the made fights by location, weight, record, total cost of purses, dates, and fan polling data. Fights will be assigned a polling value to indicate the most marketable fights and location of the fighter's fan base. This information will not be accessable anywhere else.

MadeFights.com will open the process, offering a greater selection of the best fights to more promoters. Promoters will have the benefit of free-market forces and access to more fighters and their managers, other promoters for co-promoting of certain fights, casinos-hotels and other host properties, sports television programmers, and a chance for promoters to evaluate early new prospects.

BESTMATCHES

The BestMatches feature will encourage the making of quality fights and quicker turnover of made fight inventory. It will be an automatic sorting feature and the easiest way to make challenges for fights with high marketability. It will simplify the process and save search time.

Each fighters template homepage with their record will have a link titled "BestMatches" which will take them to a page with a specially preselected, sortable database of BestMatches."

This database will list fighters with identical win-loss records first, followed by those with the most similar record.

Making fights between fighters with similar records will appeal to fans and be quickly approved by state athletic commissions as a competitive match.

BestMatches will appeal to fighters confident about their competitive skills and anxious to get more fights and fight often.

The BestMatches feature will also be offered as a sorting feature for promoters at MadeFights.com to assist them in quickly finding the best matches, avoiding mismatches, and putting on exciting, highly competitive fights.

FOREIGN PROMOTERS

Las Vegas gyms frequently receive calls from foreign promoters from cities all over the world, venues with local fighters and a strong local fan base. Major U.S. promoters have them waiting in line.

Foreign promoters will have a greater variety of potentially more profitable fight cards and a wider range of venues for putting on shows. If 100 fighters spread throughout ten large cities in five different countries each select ten willing opponents, that's a database of 1,000 made matches which can be easily sorted by city and country -- an absolute dream for every promoter in every major city in the world.

OTHER OPTIONS BY SORTING THE DATABASE

The matches at MadeFights.com can be easily sorted in a number of additional ways for promoters:

Specialty Shows
It will be easy to put together a series of all-heavyweight cards, or cards between fighters from one country or ethnicity which could lead to a national championship series.

Cards with all undefeated fighters would be a great tool for discovering potential champions early.

Regional Shows
Fights can be selected to match fighters by city or country. It will be easy to find a 10-round boxer who has a large and centralized fan base in a specific place and who consistently puts on an exciting fight.

Purse Cost Certainty
Database sorting by total purses makes promoting within budgets quick and easy.

Evaluate Styles
After the promoter has sorted and reviewed the list, he can also choose to watch video clips of selected fighter's past fights.

Communication
The promoter may then choose to send downloaded email contracts to the fighters and managers for final signatures on approved forms.

Save Time and Money
Every promoter in every country and the area venues will be able to easily make good fights, fill out a card, and save an enormous amount of money and negotiating time in producing a show.

PROMOTER'S MARKETING INFORMATION

The source of marketing data is the "Fighter's Fan Page." It will enable fans to watch videos and bookmark their favorite fights and fighters, customize their own library of fight videos in their FightersScrapbook, and choose and rank opponent preferences for their favorite fighters.

The cumulative results of fan polling of favorite fighters, fights they'd like to see, and fan location (zip codes from their questionaire) will be summarized as market data for MadeFights.com. This will assist promoters in putting together the most profitable fight cards and the best location for those shows.

FINANCIAL PROJECTIONS

Projections for the entire card, sponsors revenue, advertising and promotion costs, and polling and tracking data are valuable and reliable marketing tools to use in negotiating site fees, estimating live gates, television ratings, and pay-per-view buys.

Promoters, sports television programmers, fighters and their managers, and host properties in each country will be able to access in one place hundreds of matches by total purse cost, correlated with marketing information.

NEW RATING SYSTEM: AVOIDING NO-SHOWS

A promoter may have every reason to think a fight will draw well as a main event or as part of the undercard. Both fighters are undefeated, have aggressive styles, and have high knockout percentages.

One main event fighter calls at the last minute and gives a lame excuse, trying to hold the promoter up for more money. He says he's sick or got injured at the last minute, missed his plane, or just doesn't show up at the airport -- a promoter's nightmare. That's typical for some fighters and the promoter doesn't know the fighter's reputation until it's too late.

MadeFights.com will provide a much needed approval rating system to let promoters know in advance by checking a fighter's rating under a post-fight evaluation system. MadeFights.com will list evaluations based upon histories. A fighter's profile will include a rating based on how past promoters rated their dealings with him. Another promoters' dream.

QUANTITY, QUALITY AND GROWTH

MadeFights.com will offer an unprecendented business contribution to both MMA and boxing promoters, and an opportunity for explosive growth, giving rise to new models for competition in a sport where there are huge opportunities.
